  • Katherine Read's Last Paintings?

Portraits of the artist's sister and nephews

Possibly painted in Madras, these four portraits by the Scottish portraitist Katherine Read depict her sister and her three nephews. They rank amongst her last works, as she died during her passage home to Britain in 1778, and likely remain in their original frames.
