'The World Turn'd Upside Down' at Frieze Masters 2015

'The World Turn'd Upside Down' by German School, early 18th century

Following a successful debut in 2014, The Weiss Gallery - leading dealer in Tudor, Stuart and North European Old Master portraiture - is delighted to return to Frieze Masters this year, from 14-18 October 2015. The World Turn’d Upside Down is one of the extraordinary pieces The Weiss Gallery will bring to Frieze Masters. This early eighteenth-century painting depicts a world where traditional order is subverted; the heavens are found on earth and earth becomes heaven. It is, quite literally the world ‘turn’d upside down’.
