The Weiss Gallery is pleased to announce a collaborative project with The Tudor Tailor to celebrate the launch of The Tudor Child - a sumptuously illustrated book offering a detailed insight into sixteenth century clothing for infants, young children and youths. The Tudor Tailor is a team of dress historians and costumiers, which publishes accurate and accessible scholarship on historic clothing. The work investigates how Tudor children’s clothing demonstrated their place in society and signalled their growing maturity. It also explores the use of portraiture as source material for the reconstruction of historic dress.
Details about the upcoming exhibition at our Jermyn Street address can be found on the Tudor Tailor Website.
The Tudor Child is published by Fat Goose Press and is released on 1 March 2013.
